Back BlueScope (Xi'an) Plant Honorably Awarded the 'Lu Ban Prize'

The China Construction Project 'Lu Ban Prize' was first issued in 1987 by the Ministry of Construction and the China Construction Association, representing the highest standard of construction quality in the Chinese construction industry. From the beginning of the year 2010 – 2011, the award was reviewed once a year and awarded every two years to enterprises that had achieved high-quality construction. So far, 2,040 projects have been awarded this honor. These projects set the benchmark for the industry and play an important leading role in improving the level of construction quality management in China.

Quality and Safety are the Eternal Themes for Enterprises

The BlueScope Building System (Xi’an)  Project (hereinafter referred to as the Project) took 13 months to construct. It covers a total construction area of 52,000m2 including the office building, workshop building, raw material warehouse, production workshop and outside storage yard. The design and construction of the Project fully met the requirements of the American LEED and the National Evaluation Standards for Green Industry Buildings, and it is the first steel structure plant in China of which the whole construction process achieved green production. Currently, the Project has obtained certificates of 3-Star Green Building in China and LEED Platinum, and has been included in the first group of Green Construction Technology for Demonstration Projects selected by the Ministry of Housing and Urban_rural Development, the Construction Structural Engineering with High Quality in Shaanxi Province, the 'Chang An Cup' and other honors.

BlueScope Green Strategy 

The BlueScope (Xi'an) Plant has been in operation for two years. It is BlueScope's design, manufacturing and sales center in the central and western regions of China. The Plant has major structure production lines for light and heavy steel and more than ten efficient production lines for metal roof and wall systems, with a designed production capacity of over 12×104t/a. The plant features the green, energy efficient and highly intelligent R&D and production of environmentally friendly construction steel products. It has successfully applied a series of green technologies including recyclable materials, rainwater collection, roof garden, light guiding technology and green construction, establishing a positive model for green technology and product usage in central and western China.
